Cold Front coming to south Florida

Right on schedule, south Florida is set to receive its first cold front of the season, knocking some of the humidity out of the air and opening the door for 9 months of wonderful weather!
Whether you live in Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, or West Palm Beach.....you are sure to enjoy this as I am.
All of the outdoor activities will be wonderful this weekend ranging from golfing to surfing, fishing to hunting.
Enjoy!

Teahupoo, Tahiti

These legendary waves were doing their thing for the Billabong Pro and on an off-day from the contest, they got out of control!
Check out this footage from Teahupoo! Some of this is old....but this link is from this week...

Hurricane Irene

The first two bands were nasty, like mini hurricanes, but now it is beautiful out!
Thank you Irene!
I am hopeful that Hurricane Irene does not hurt anyone up north. I'm sure people are preparing well and really, I hope it is all for nothing. These storms can be scary so it is best to prepare well and for the worst hoping you are wrong!
Oh and all the bro/brahs...enjoy the surf.

The Weather is Sweet....

So its smack dab in the middle of the two hottest months in south Florida....and really, it aint that bad. Ya, it's hot and humid, but not nearly as bad as it has been in recent years. Evenings and mornings have been coolish. The other day I walked my dog without sweating one bit! And this morning I sat up in a tree looking for 8 points or better and again I didn't sweat one bit even when Mr. Sun stared me down for the last hour!
One more month and it is onto 9+ straight months of beautiful weather!

So why comment on the Weather Paul Gozzo?

I (Paul Gozzo) like to comment on the weather from time-to-time for a few of reasons:
First, I love being outside, so I am always wondering what the weather is and will be so I know how to prepare for whatever I am doing.
Second, I like peace. I like it when people are happy. And generally, my observations tell me that when people are prospering, as in making money, they are happy. After all, 70+% of the United States economy is consumer based, so when many are doing well, the vast majority are doing well. And my point here, when you hear people talking about the weather all is well. Have you ever noticed that? The next time the economy is prospering, remember this notion. Because after all, you can always bash the weather and you can share it with others. Negativity can spread rapidly and in certain storm corridors, you can spread the fear. A good example of this would be in the early summer of every year in south Florida, people like to spread "word" that this year's forecast for the hurricane season is for it to be a very "active" season.
Third, I have been preparing for while now actively shaping my personality traits so that I will be a very quirky old man. In my studies I have found that most old men love to talk about the weather. And if you have not noticed people talking about the weather lately, probably because the economy has been in tough shape for a few years now, surely you may notice this phenomenon moving forward.
So there it is. Those are three reasons why I (Paul Gozzo) like to blog about the weather.

3 Little birds

I woke up this morning...put on my glasses, some clothes, brushed my teeth and went outside...
There literally were 3 Little Birds signing by my doorstep.
What a way to start the day....

Rain finally...

After a beautiful stretch of weather, we finally caught some rain down here in south Florida. Many of my farmer friends are excited as is my garden! Oh and for those of us who refuse to do "chores" when its nice out, we no longer have an excuse. We have a few days to get stuff done finally. The rains will wash out golfing and most of the fishing.....and it makes chasing spring gobblers a little tougher as the Osceola tends to get very quiet when it pours and even more reluctant to leave the roost. Enjoy the rain! Or not. Paul Gozzo

Its a beautiful day in the neighborhood

When the weather is this nice outside, how do ya stay inside?

I'm so thankful that my Mom wouldn't let us watch much t.v. as a kid. We really only watched it at night, after everything was done, including chores and homework. Maybe that is why I am just not drawn to t.v. and movies until it is dark out and I just can't understand how anyone could vegetate like that when it is 75 and sunny out!

And thank God for "daylight savings time". Now, after work, there is plenty of time to do stuff outside while there is still sunlight!!

Maybe its Mr. Rogers, because of his theme song was ingrained in me as a kid.

How about you?

75 and 60 in West Palm Beach

Sunny and 75 today, warming up from 50's this morning, no clouds, wind picking up later, then back down to 60 overnight. This weather could not be any more perfect for ANYTHING outside.

Too bad I am moving...
