Christmas Weather ?

Florida has been cold all month adding a real sense of winter and the Christmas mood for those of us transplanted down here from the Northeast (Paul Gozzo). Although it is a different feeling down here, the cold weather does make it feel more like Christmas. We were singing, "it is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas" earlier this month and we have been singing it all month long!

Thanksgiving

Looks like some low 80's and sunny during the day with overnight lows in the low 60's......some very nice weather for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend!

Boston looks like it will be cold and rainy...good for staying inside, eating and watching some football! And if you have a 3 day weekend, looks like it will be sunny and yea, cold. Enjoy that.

New York looks like similar to Boston. Enjoy that everyone. There is nothing like New York in the cold and rain. Ughh.

October weather

The has turned for sure; mornings are pleasant, evenings too....hot midday, but not miserable. I will be sure to enjoy it this next couple of weeks before I move ...

This time of year, the weather seems to be great all over the United States. If you like it cool and a bit windy, you love the fall. It's also a great time of the year for sports....football season is in full swing (National Football League) http://www.nfl.com/ so too is hockey (National Hockey League) http://www.nhl.com/ as well as baseball playoffs (Major League Baseball) http://www.mlb.com/. For the individual it is hunting season, fall golf, and autumn tennis. Also a great time for surf on the east coast if that is your thing.

...and the weather turns

With a pick-up in wind and cooler highs and lower lows....we may just be past the summer heat in south Florida. Traditionally, we still have another month to go, and last year it started early but the humidity stayed late, so let's not get too excited just yet.

Hopefully this winter will be as nice as last winter with all those cold fronts and minimal wind.

This site is great for tracking hurricanes....and we have a few on the way. Should be great for surf, hopefully none make landfall.

Working outside in south Florida during the summer...

is great! Ya don't have to go to the gym after working in that sauna all day. Although, ya may find yourself gravitating towards large walk-in freezers!

south Florida has cooled....

Weather.Com says it is 87 and feels like 97, I would say that depends on where you are standing and how far you are from the beach where there is a breeze thank God.

Scattered T-storms have been forecast for every afternoon for the past week yet Jupiter has not had one.

However, it is a bit cooler than the previous two weeks and the mornings are gorgeous. Enjoy South Florida!!

Humid and Hot

It is really humid and hot outside in south Florida these days. Thank God for the breeze if an when we get them. Working labor outside is brutal but always seems to be worth it at the end of the day.

Drink lots of water!!!

It is hot here, but not too hot and with a breeze, it is nice. The ocean is warm, pools are warm, and it isn't nearly as hot as it will be in July, which isn't as hot as August, which usually isn't as hot as September, before the big humidity break in October. So, I hope all of you enjoy this beautiful weather and while you are doing that, keep in mind why we have this long weekend!

82 feels like 86 at 9 am...

Summer humidity is here! But, it's not as hot now as it will be in July. And in July it is not as hot as August. And in August, it is not as hot as September. Then, come October, south Floridians can enjoy another 8-10 months of beautiful weather.

If summer is "our winter" it isn't so bad!!

Birds singing in the morning

If any of you live in south Florida, I encourage you to get up early, get outside, and just sit. You do not have to get up in the dark, but anytime in the first couple of daylight hours, get outside and just chill. The birds down here come alive in the spring and almost anywhere you can find a nice place to sit and listen, you will hear their sweet melodies. It can be in your backyard, front yard, in an HOA common, even the grocery store parking lot! I encourage you to try it. Just a few quiet mins alone in nature is sweet but when accompanied by the smoothing sounds of wild birds singing, those moments magnify and seem to make all the little troubles in life pass by, even if it is for just a few moments.

This time of the year, ya wake up and it is 70-75 and humid. But, the birds are chirpin and the weather is sweet! It will warm up all day today to 90 or so and maybe a 10 min shower this afternoon. This is our winter down here, but still pretty dang nice.

Don't be afraid to give some cold water to the guys working outside in your neighborhood!
